PROFILE
Perfection is imperfection—Andrianna Shamaris.

Andrianna Shamaris, a favorite among architects, interior designers, stylists and celebrities, scouts the globe for materials. Some of her favorites include teak, tamarin wood, bamboo and resin. Her designs fit in as much with a contemporary sensibility, as well as in a more traditional, formal style.

Andrianna designs everything within her stores, which includes a complete line of furniture, constantly evolving. She has a unique line of accessories and gifts such as antique hand woven textiles backed in luxurious suede.

Andrianna carries an exclusive line of resort wear, hand woven from the finest cotton weave. Her line includes pajamas for men and women along with elegant slip dresses, robes and shirts under her own label, ”Good In Bed”. Her upcoming line, “ari”, is a couture collection of sexy, yet classic, one-of-a-kind pieces made from incredibly rare textiles.

"I am a designer, a manufacturer and a retailer. I sell directly to the public as well as to designers". Everything is directly imported. She designs, develops and totally sees the product, whether its a beautiful organic teak table, to a hand made photo album, from the beginning to its final creation. Everything is unique. There is no middle man, making her prices unbelievable.

Born in London, Andrianna is a self-taught designer who began her career working weekends at age 16 for Browns on South Molton Street. She then moved to the first Ralph Lauren store on the fashionable New Bond Street. At age 20, she left London to travel around the world and fell in love with Bali and its culture. A year later, she decided to sell everything in London and return to Southeast Asia, moving from one island to the next. While there, she began buying and designing furniture, and without ever having set foot in Santa Fe, New Mexico, decided to move there and open a store with the items she discovered while traveling. There she specialized in pieces that were very primitive, yet with a modern edge befitting the southwestern style. However, her love for the ocean was undeniable and five years later she relocated to California where she opened another store in Montecito, Santa Barbara. Discovered there by Fred Segal (yes, he is a real person), he invited her to open her own furniture store within his store, and “Andrianna at Fred Segal,” opened in 1999. A year later she opened her own store, “Andrianna Home,” in Malibu, California. Currently, Andrianna is based in New York, running her new store, “Andrianna Shamaris,” which opened in early 2005.
